Interschool Gala Day for Year 5 and 6
On Monday we had our second Interschool Gala Day for the year. Our students did exceptionally well and represented our school very well.
National Cross Country Titles
Congratulations to Layla who competed at the National Cross Country Titles representing Queensland. She did exceptionally well and walked away with a gold medal in the under 12 teams overall winner and a silver in the composite relay. Layla also finished 25th in the overall race! It is amazing to say you are in the top 25 runners in Australia. This is only the start of Layla’s National Title campaigns as she lines up for the National Aquathon Titles next week, representing Queensland. Good luck Layla and well done on your achievements so far.
Oceanic Track and Field
Good luck to our Tallebudgera athletes representing the Oceanic District at next weeks South Coast Track and Field Carnival. Winnie, Charlee and Brock will travel to Runaway Bay to compete. We wish you three all the best.
Basketball
Well done to our students that have been trying out basketball this term with our free afterschool sessions, they have done a great job learning some new skills. If your child would like to continue with their basketball, the Palm Beach Currumbin Magpies run a mini session on Saturday morning at Elanora High School. You can jump on the Magpies facebook page for more information.
Term 3 Afterschool Sport
Next term Soccer X will be running a 6 week soccer program at our school. This will be on a Wednesday afternoon from 3:00 - 4:00pm on the big oval. Please keep a look out for flyers coming home.
Athletics Carnival
With a very jam packed schedule in the last few weeks of this term (Book Week, Gala Days, Run4Fun Colour Explosion), we were unable to squeeze in our catch up Athletics Carnival before the holidays. We are hopeful that we can do this in week 2 of next term. Once we are able to confirm a date, we will let you know.
Have a great week!
Yours in fitness and health
