Australian Teacher Aide Team of the Year – Team Tally Teacher Aides
Congratulations to our incredible teacher aide team for being named as the Australian Teacher Aide Team of the Year!!! We know the outstanding work they do and are thrilled to see them recognised with a national award.
Team Tally Teacher Aides are a critical part of the professional team and their collective expertise, skill and care ensures that our school is inclusive, effective, safe and enjoyable for all students. Being passionate about the success of our students, school and team, they are known for going above and beyond and making a positive difference in the lives of young people. All teacher aides working in our school last term were nominated and receive this award (the photo featured online isn’t our whole team and there is a visitor included).
If you would like to read a little about their nomination and the other state and territory finalists, here’s the link to the finalists announcement page - https://www.australianteacheraide.com.au/2022-team-finalists.
We recognise the outstanding achievements of the other finalists and congratulate them on representing their state or territory!
YMCA Book Donation
Thank you to the YMCA and our service’s coordinator, Chloe Dimond, for the generous donation of books that are now in our library ready for students to borrow. YMCA made this donation as a way to support the love of reading.
School Council Parent Representative Nominations
As an Independent Public School, we have a school council that plays an essential part in our work to improve student outcomes.
“The functions of a school council are to:
The membership of the school council includes two elected parent representatives (not to be confused with parent representatives for classes) and two elected staff representatives. The duration of each member’s position on the school council is limited (except for the Principal and P&C President). Due to this, one of our current parent members will conclude their service on the council this year and nominations will be invited, followed by an election.
An email detailing the nomination and election process for the next parent representative on our school council will be emailed to parents and carers this afternoon. If you do not receive the information, please contact our office.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Lauren O’Grady (elected parent school council member for her service to Tallebudgera State School. Throughout her time on the school council, she has contributed to the strategic direction and improvement initiatives of our school.
Father’s Day
Happy Father’s Day to all the dads and other special adults in the lives of our students! Our students enjoyed selecting gifts from our annual Father’s Day stall. An enormous thank you to our P&C and fabulous volunteers for organising and running this as a service to families and our students!
Collaborative Planning
Next week, teaching teams will be provided additional time off class, working with our Curriculum Leaders to coordinate the educational programs and assessment for next term. This ensures that we have a high level of consistency and quality planning across all year levels.
Run for Fun Colour Explosion
We are very excited about our upcoming Run for Fun Colour Explosion! It will be a fabulous day! Parents and carers, please remember to set up your online profile and send in your child’s white shirt (details are on the notes sent home).
Reminder
Tomorrow, Friday, 2 September is a Student Free Day/Staff Professional Development Day
