New school lunch options

I am pleased to announce that we will be offering new options for school lunches starting from the beginning of term 4.

As a community-focused school, we are always looking to support local businesses where we can and we hope to be able to offer options from different businesses on different days starting with Pick and Pan Cafe on Tuesdays and Fridays.

We are also talking to other local food suppliers and hope to have their food available to order from early in term 4.

All ordering and payment will be done using the Qkr! app and the menus will be designed and managed by the businesses and accessed through our school portal. The orders and payments will go directly to the provider and we will not receive a commission or any other payment from the businesses.

Below is a link on how to install, register and order using Qkr! Please note that menus will not be available until closer to the start of term 4 but you can register and create profiles before then.

A copy of this will also be sent out via Compass.

Arts Festival

The artistic talent of our students was truly on display at our Arts Festival on Tuesday. A sausage sizzle was followed by an arts quiz with questions to be answered in different rooms where each class had their beautiful artwork on display.

Our preps to grade 2s had been decorating birdhouses as well as painting stones with the theme of "Care for our Earth". Each student decorated two stones - one to take home and one to be installed in a dry river bed as part of the rain garden at Warrandyte Uniting Church.

School Review

Every four years, Victorian governments schools undertake a comprehensive school review. The review is a process designed to improve learning outcomes, promote excellence across the curriculum and enhance the health and wellbeing of students.

Our school review took place in the last few weeks of term three and the outcome of the process will be a School Review Report to inform school practice and guide planning. "It celebrates progress and acknowledges key challenges. It identifies specific opportunities to strengthen the school’s instructional core: student voice, agency and leadership, curriculum content and teaching practice."

The report is a document that will guide the school and provide direction for the principal and staff to improve learning and teaching in the school. It is based on a review of current school data, classroom observations, and interviews with students, teachers, and parents at all levels of the school and will document agreed-upon, evidence-based priorities including goals, targets and key improvement strategies to be used in school planning for the next four years.

Thank-you to Meredith for her hard work in preparing for the review, the students, teachers, and parents who have provided us with invaluable feedback on both of strengths and areas for improvement, and the external members of the review panel who worked with Meredith and myself.

It's been a busy and tiring term for everyone, so please stay safe and enjoy the school holiday break.
