Out Of School Hours Care

OSHC News

My Time Our Place

There have been lots of changes happening in week 7 and 8 as the OSHC and activity rooms have been repainted and the  layout of the OSHC room has been changed! The children are very excited about the changes and are looking forward to using a refreshed OSHC space.

In the meantime, the children spent time in the activity room and outside to participate in a variety of activities. In the activity room the children spent time creating origami animals and bookmarks. The children resourced their own learning by watching YouTube videos on how to create different types of origami and then communicated between themselves to teach each other. This self directed learning enables the children to build on existing ideas and expand on their current knowledge.

The children also spent time outside on the oval and the playground playing games of marks up, soccer shootout and chasey. The children enjoy spending time outside participating in team games that utilise their large and fine motor skills, coordination and proprioception.

Sprout

During week 7 and 8 the Director and a few Educators went and visited the Sprout kitchen to participate in creating and cooking healthy and delicious snacks. Sprout has worked in collaboration with the Director to examine and redevelop our OSHC menu to provide tasty and nutritious snacks for the service. The services menu will be changing as of Term 4 so ensure you check the OSHC display board to see the new and exciting snacks your children will be eating!

October Vacation Care

The October Vacation Care program is now available online and from the OSHC room. Please return your booking forms by the 20th of September to secure your bookings! Please see the attachment below.

Active After School

If our Educators have not been notified by parents/caregivers that their children are participating in active after school they will be unable to leave the service. If your child is going to attend an after school activity please notify the service in advance. (Parents please remind your children to go to OSHC before going to active after school).

Absentees

A reminder to all parents and caregivers to contact the service on 8443 5308 if their child/ren are no longer attending their sessions or have been collected early from school. If your child/ren are booked in for that day and do not come to the OSHC service prior to their after school activity the service will follow our protocol of contacting parents, and if parents cannot be contacted the police will be called.

Dietary Requirements

At our service we aim to cater to children’s needs as much as possible, however, if your child has specific dietary requirements or does not like the food programmed for the day please pack an alternative snack or drop off food alternatives at the service.

Thank you
