Farm

The paddocks are getting a bit wet now as we have received 77mm for August so far compared to 44mm this time last year and we've only managed to get the loader and one ute bogged, but its early days yet!  The crops are looking good and in this beautiful sunshine, the lovely rounded lambs are looking amazing!  And in fact, all the sheep and cattle are looking fantastic, so thank you to all the students and staff for their hard work.  The Piggery is kicking goals as always and even through this cold spell, the pigs are growing that fast, that our pig truck is flat out taking Baconers to Linley Valley, so well-done staff and students.

Katanning Merino Judging Challenge

On Wednesday 17 August, Wayne Laird, Koltyn Thorstrup, Frazer Sutherland, Damon Topham and Jacob Smith headed down to the Katanning Merino Judging Challenge and Sheep Handling Experience to compete, showing off their skills and knowledge with Merino Sheep and Wool. This opportunity enhanced their sheep handling skills, provided network opportunities with stud breeders and agricultural industry representatives. The boys did an outstanding job, coming home with a second in the team event and a 1st for Koltyn Thorstrup in the individual round.
