Woodville Gardens - back to face to face learning for all!

It is great to see so many students back on site from Preschool to Year 6. A few reminders this week as we all get back into the swing of things as a school community: please ensure that your child has a school hat and drink bottle as outside drinking water taps are closed due to Covid. Hats need to be worn outside at Recess and Lunch play. Inside spaces such as the Library and Gym are not available due to current Covid restrictions.

We thank parents for wearing masks on site as there is no building entry to adults not wearing masks. We have a small supply of masks available if you forget yours. Thankfully the impact of adults all wearing masks on site has not impacted the students sense of feeling settled and comfortable in their learning spaces. They are settling well into classroom routines and coping well with the slight adjustments to 'normal' school life. They are a credit to our community.

We are well into Term 1 now and it is the time of year where we thank our Governing Council for their outstanding contributions and welcome new families and parents who may want to be a part of the Governing Council in 2022. Many of our Governing Council members will be continuing this year and building on the work that they have been doing with the Leadership team in governing the school and contributing to ongoing improvement priorities. Parent and carer perspective is vital to a school in order to shape the work at the school to improve outcomes for our students.

This year brings some challenges as we have restructured the school as a Preschool to Year 6 site with Childrens' Centre. This has implications for the curriculum we provide, the facilities, class structures, support and staffing. This is a year where we need to connect with you around education issues more than ever.

The structure for this years Governing Council meetings will be two main meetings a term. This terms meetings are on 22nd February (online) to address operational issues and business arising and our AGM on Tuesday 22nd March (Week 8). Both meetings at this stage will be online through TEAMS.

If you are interested in learning more about how you can be involved then please join our AGM, 22nd March, 6pm.
