YEARS 3 - 4 NEWS
The grade 3 and 4 classes have been very busy this term with camps, excursions and several plays being staged.
4B manufactured their own shields from copper and timber to use as props for their play, 'The fate of Baldur'.
3T have been busy constructing a new cob home for the chickens and staging a production of 'The land of milk and honey'.
3G produced a fantastic suite of 3 whale stories, including Auslan and Indigenous language.
3-4CK launched a TV 'station' with short narrative stories, advertisements, documentaries and music videos.
Our whole learning community was lucky enough to be invited to participate in a workshop and performance at the Collingwood studios of Circus Oz.

PRIMARY PERFORMING ARTS
As part of the Primary Performing Art Program our Primary students have been exploring and participating in many activities.
Reggio Prep students had the opportunity to perform their song 'One Call Away’ as part of ‘Spring Fair.’
Year 1/2 students created bands and performed for their families as well as exploring improvisation.
Year 3/4 students worked on small acts combining different Art Forms.
Year 5/6 students explored juggling.

PRIMARY VISUAL ARTS
As part of the Reggio Emilia inspired Primary Art program, in Term Four students had the opportunity to explore and create some wonderful work.
Prep students created a collage of trees.
1/2 students worked on a large project ‘What do animals think?’ students’ created an Art Installation working with different types of projectors.
3/4 and 5/6 students discussed ‘What is a choice?’ and then had the opportunity to work in groups, creating an Art work of their choice.
COLLINGWOOD COLLEGE FEMINIST COLLECTIVE
In response to the ubiquity of sexism, students in 5K recently founded the Collingwood College Feminist Collective. Students in 5-6C have since joined.
The Collective broadly aims to:
- Promote human rights, responsibility and gender equality
- Question gender stereotypes and insist upon complex, nuanced representations of women and men in the media and advertising
- Encourage girls and women to take on positions of leadership and demand equal opportunities for girls and women in every sphere of society
- Actively encourage girls and women to participate freely in all sports if they wish,
- Promote the aims of the Collective within Collingwood College.
