'WICKED' THE MUSICAL - YOUNG AUSTRALIAN BROADWAY CHORUS - SEEKING CAST
Want to be in the Major Youth Production of the Popular Broadway Show?
Auditions Open to Young Performers 15-21 Years
Audition Dates: August 5 & 6
This is an amazing opportunity to experience the intensive rehearsal process that goes into creating a major musical production, as well as the thrill of performing an iconic work like WICKED for a 10 performance run at the National Theatre in St. Kilda.
The rehearsals and performances will take place in the school holidays in December 2017/January 2018 so won't conflict with any of your school drama or musical productions.
All details regarding auditions, rehearsals, performances and commitment can be found in the downloadable WICKED Information Kit.
This is a wonderful opportunity for students to increase their skills working on a large production in a professional theatre.

THE DOLL'S HOUSE IN 'OPEN HOUSE MELBOURNE'
The Doll's House owned by Collingwood College will be open to the public on Saturday, 29 July as part of Open House Melbourne.
The Doll’s House, built in the 1880s, is possibly the smallest house in Victoria. It consists of two rooms and is only 2.5 metres wide. It was occupied until 1978. At one time a family of five lived in the house. The first couple who lived in the house had a daughter named Lily, who died at a very young age. Collingwood once had a very high infant and child mortality rate due to bad living conditions. The Doll’s House shows the history of the working class in Victoria, providing evidence of the living conditions experienced by slum dwellers before strict planning controls. After a report in 1937, houses such as the Doll’s House were demolished to make way for Housing Commission flats. The Doll’s House was moved twice and ended up dismantled in the council yards with the council unsure about what to do with it. It was then decided to sell it to Collingwood College for $1, and it was rebuilt close to its original site in Islington Street. In 2013 the house was restored by a group of Collingwood College students as part of a history project. It now looks as it would have when Lily was living there with her parents in the 1880s.

Tired of fighting with your teen? Worried about their behaviour? Sign up now to our free online program for parents of tweens and teens!
Parents want to raise teenagers who are respectful and responsible, happy and confident. But, helping your teen navigate adolescence can be stressful and unpredictable. Researchers at The University of Queensland are excited to offer Australian parents of pre-teens and teens (aged 10-16 years) the opportunity to try a brand new online parenting program for free as part of a research trial. The program is based on the successful Triple P: Positive Parenting Program. We are looking for parents who are experiencing conflict with their teenager or have concerns about their behaviour. You will be asked to complete questionnaires to help test the effects of the program. To find out more or register for the study, visit: https://exp.psy.uq.edu.au/parentingteens/project/online
