Space Camp 2019

The 2019 Space Campers are now in Orlando Florida. They will visit Disneyland, Universal Studios, Kennedy Space Centre and iFly before heading off to Space Camp in Alabama. Good luck to our WISE teams

Year 10 students Jessica Liu, Niann Lu, Felicia Yang, Felicity Edmondson, Jade Leung and Vivienne Carey will spend the first weekend of the school holidays perfecting their products and preparing to “pitch” their ideas at the Monash Women in STEM and Entrepreneurship challenge. The prize is a trip to Silicon Valley to “pitch” their idea there. Fingers are crossed!

It takes a SPARK conference

On Thursday the 12th of September Dorace Cheung and Nandini Vyas (Year 7), Julia Wang, Kimmy Nguyen Thoi, Maya Garrett and Quinn Simpson-Tuckey (Year 8), Scarlet Gregory and Imogen Meskauskas (Year 9) attended the It takes a SPARK conference for girls interested in STEAM. We got to listen to a mining engineer talk about what she does in her job and a doctor who works in infectious diseases. Both were inspiring speakers. We also attended sessions involving problem solving, new software packages and robotics.

FIRST Lego League

Melbourne Girls’ College is hosting a regional Lego League event on Saturday 16th of November. We are looking for volunteers to help on the day. You can CLICK HERE to register as a volunteer if you have some time to spare. We are after everyone – no experience necessary!
