Student Support Group Meetings/Conferences (SSG'S)

SSG’s will be held next week on either Tuesday 31st July or Wednesday 1st August. During these meetings you will have the chance to discuss your child’s progress and reflect on the SLP which will be handed out on Monday 30th July.

If your child is in the Secondary School, the SSG meeting will be in the form of a 3-way conference. During these conferences, all Secondary Students will be involved in discussing their goals and progression towards them with their parents/carers and teacher.

SSG’s and 3-way conferences are a wonderful opportunity to celebrate your child’s learning with them! Please make sure that you book a time through Compass to meet with the relevant teachers for your child. An information sheet was sent home this week explaining how to book through Compass, and it was also on the Compass newsfeed.

This term we are organising an NDIS Parent Information Evening. This will be held on Thursday 16th August at 7pm in the Discovery Centre at the Bundoora Campus. We will have a guest speaker from NDIA coming to present and answer questions people may have regarding the NDIS process. This information evening will be relevant to all of our families, with children from Prep to Year 12 so please write this date down in your diaries and we look forward to seeing you there!

Our next Concord Community Connections meeting will be held on Monday 30th July at 1.30pm in the staff room at the Bundoora Campus.

2018 Parent Opinion Survey

Our school is conducting a survey to find out what parents think of our school. The Parent Opinion Survey is an annual survey offered by the Department of Education and Training that is conducted amongst a sample of randomly selected parents. It is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of parents’ perceptions of school climate, student behaviour and student engagement. Our school will use the survey results to help inform and direct future school planning and improvement strategies.

Approximately 30 per cent of parents will be invited to participate in this year’s survey. All responses to the survey are anonymous. This year the Parent Opinion Survey will be conducted from Monday 23rd July to Sunday 26th August. All randomly selected families have been emailed the login details today.

The survey will be conducted online, only takes 10-15 minutes to complete, and can be accessed at any convenient time within the fieldwork period on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones. The online survey will be available in a range of languages other than English. These include: Arabic, Vietnamese, Mandarin, Chin (hakha), Hindi, Japanese, Somali, Turkish, Punjabi and Greek.

Please speak to Sarah Abbott (Community and Communications Manager) if you would like more information.
