Principal's Report

Welcome

I trust that our students had a relaxing break and found quality time to spend with family and friends. It is always difficult in the winter holidays to find the balance between getting out and about and keeping warm. I enjoyed spending time with my children (Bailey 11 and Amelie 5) however it was great to come back to school on Monday to catch up with the staff and students. Concord School provides a dynamic educational environment in which there are always exciting challenges for our students. We are looking forward to a productive term 3.

2018 Presentation Balls

Preparations are well underway for the 2018 Presentation Balls to be held on Friday 31st August (Year 11) and Friday 7th September (Year 12) at the Plenty Ranges Arts and Convention Centre. The students are very excited and are busy preparing their dresses, suits and everything else that goes into preparing for a grand evening such as this. Tickets are now on sale for the Presentation Balls. Please contact the school office if you would like more information.

There are two Balls as this is a transition year. From 2019 the Presentation Ball will be for Year 11 students only and Year 12 students will be having a more formal Graduation Evening held at a venue outside of the school.

School Camping Program

There has been some recent discussion regarding to the school camping program due to some modifications to the Lower Primary program. I thought it would be an opportune time to remind you of the schedule of camps planned across the school. The School Council has ensured that as the students move throughout the school the experiences increase in duration and challenge and give greater opportunity for student independence. In the later years the students experience a surf camp and a snow camp. The program culminates with the Year 12 students flying to Sydney for a four day adventure.

Principal's Award

The Principal's Award goes to Cara Lo Piccolo

Cara tackles all areas of schooling with enthusiasm and precision.  She is undertaking the Foundation VCAL program, studying Certificate II in Kitchen Operations and has commenced a Structured Workplace Learning placement at the Salvation Army in Brunswick this term.  Cara has worked in the school canteen and Bunnings, demonstrating various employability skills, including teamwork, customer service, communication, problem-solving and organisation.

Cara is always prepared for work, offers encouragement to friends and staff and gives her best to all tasks.  Cara is eagerly looking forward to the Presentation Ball, of which she is working with her classmates to organise.

Congratulations on constantly doing your best, Cara.
