From Alumni

Last week the Alumni took to the socials and created the hype – this is going to be big! On Thursday, our insightful and inspiring alumni panel totally delivered! These wonderful humans volunteered their time, shared their personal experiences of life after school, and pooled their knowledge on navigating the winding, and often challenging, ever-elusive career pathway.

A huge THANK YOU goes out to former students Janaki Kharel ’18, Jacqueline Musiov ‘10, Lucy Zhang ’16, Eangano Singehebhuye ‘15 and Victoria Obieglo ’13.

Their enthusiasm for the alumni program and their involvement in this session means more to our students and school community than they can ever know. The impact a session like this is immeasurable, invaluable, and truly long-lasting. There were so many takeaways, it is hard for me to pin any one of them down, but I know that for the 260 strong audience, each will have taken away something different.

To summarise one of the key messages; every individual is gifted and aspires - even if it is not so obvious. Do not fear the failure. Keep moving forward (study/practice/network), and work towards that which you aspire to.

Industry Insight Session – Law:   I would also like to draw attention to another alumni event we have coming up on Tuesday 1 June 2021.  Ourschool will be hosting another Industry Insight Session.  The focus of this session will be Career Pathways in Law. If anyone is interested in pursuing a career in Law, please check out the poster in this issue, and come along to the live-streamed session in the Library. These sessions provide invaluable intel and advice.  They also offer students the opportunity to put questions to the panel, and to have your law-related queries answered in real time.
