Harmony Week 18-22 March

What is Harmony week?
It is a time to celebrate Australian multiculturalism, and the successful integration of migrants into our community. Australia is one of the most successful multicultural countries in the world and we should celebrate this and work to maintain it. Harmony Week is about inclusiveness, respect and belonging for all Australians, regardless of cultural or linguistic background, united by a set of core Australian values.
So what’s on at NHS for Harmony week?
- Tuesday 19th March WALL of HARMONY
Join the school adolescent nurse in the Library during lunch and contribute to building a wall of Harmony. Using an orange leaf to symbolise a united front, students can proudly display their own cultural background for everyone to see and demonstrate just how diverse our school community is.
- Thursday March 21st A Touch of Orange
Support inclusiveness and respect for one another by wearing a touch of ORANGE on March 21st! Show a united front with a single piece such as a hair accessory, orange socks, orange scarf etc… Look out for the posters for more information and ideas.
