5-6 Food Tech 

Year6 

In this semester we learnt all the different cooking techniques such as simmering, boiling, saute’ing and baking. We learnt how to cook safely on the stove top and oven. We learnt different recipes with similar basic ingredients to practise these cooking skills. I really enjoyed working in a group, cooking with my friends and helping each other. My favourite recipe was pasta and vegetable, we added some herbs and zucchini from the school garden. Learning how to cook at school help us prepare for when we are older and have to cook for ourselves and I have learnt heaps this semester. I used my baking skills and made cannelloni for my family’s dinner. The hardest part was filling the cannelloni with ricotta and spinach but it tasted delicious.

It was very enjoyable trying other food that my mum usually doesn’t cook at home. We learnt how to use the school oven and stove to saute’, boil, simmer and bake. I made the yogurt pizza dough at home and experimented with ham, pineapple, tomato and olives it turned out good and the whoke famiy actually ate it surporingly. Max 6A

 

I really enjoyed trying new food because most of the food we made I have never tried before. Learning how to cook help me experince new recipes and skills. After cooking the tomato pasta at school, I made it for my family and they really liked it.
