It is fantastic to be finishing our end-of-term on a high note with another round of excellent Learning Behaviour Updates by our students.  In particular, I would like to recognise Liam Duncan, Mohammad Bashir and Oanh Nguyen on achieving perfect 4.0 averages on their behaviour updates.  This is a difficult achievement and speaks to the incredible effort they have put into their term.  We hope that parents take the time to check the Learning Behaviour Updates and use these to guide bookings for Parent Teacher Conversations.  Learning behaviours are things that every student can demonstrate regardless of academic achievement and, as a school, we celebrate these more than high achievement because these are the behaviours that will lead to the most long term success.

Parent Teacher Conversations are on the 7th and 8th of April.  This is certainly not the only avenue for communicating with staff about any concerns you have with your child.  We encourage you to call or to contact teachers using Compass email to discuss any concerns you may have.  For general issues, we encourage contact with the Team Leaders.

Many students have been engaging in the development of individual learning plans to support their education alongside their families and some key teachers.  This has been a very positive process that approximately 25% of our students are involved in.  We hope that families have appreciated their involvement in the process also and we look forward to reviewing the learning plans in Term 2.

This week, our builders have moved in to begin the process for demolition and building of our new administration block and locker bays.  This is the last stage of building works after many years and it is exciting to have it underway.  It comes with some disruption, including Year 9s and 10s having to carry bags for a term, but the gain will be worth it.  Completion of the project is expected to be the end of December, though we hope to have the new locker bay much earlier.

As a final note to the term, I would like to recognise and thank all of the fantastic staff we have here at Morwell Campus.  They have gone above and beyond, as they always do, to try and reinitiate normal learning for students while Covid has continued to impact around them.  Some have had time off after testing positive themselves, others have faced the worry of catching the virus and bringing it home to their families.  Regardless, they have continued on and the results they have assisted our students to achieve so far have been absolutely amazing.

I hope everyone has a safe and relaxing holiday and an enjoyable Easter.  Please remember that ANZAC Day is on our first day of Term 2, so students and staff will resume on Tuesday April 26th.
