Architecture
Year 9 & 10
Year 9 and 10 Architecture students have been learning how to synthesise site information, client needs, the design approaches of notable architects, and Australian construction methods as they design a house inspired by their chosen 20th & 21st Century design movements. While our Term 2 unit focuses on learning professional design software, in Term 1 students used manual drafting equipment to create plans and elevations according to professional architectural drawing conventions. By doing so, without the visualisation aid of 3D computer modelling, students learned to think spatially, conceptualise 3D forms, and develop dexterity.
Their final presentation drawings attest to the fantastic effort and vast learning that they have applied to their work this year.
