Caritas Australia Project Compassion

Every year Trinity College participates in the Project Compassion Appeal. This Appeal provides Caritas Australia with funds that it uses to support communities in some of the most impoverished situations in the world. These communities develop projects which will enable them to overcome some of the worst conditions they face. For as little as $6, a community in Democratic republic of Congo can be provided with soap and a tippy tap to improve hygiene. Buying a duck for a Rural Training School in the Solomon Islands cost only $25, enabling farmers to become more productive. A toilet, something we regard as basic to any home, which is not accessible for many people in Mozambique, costs just $148.

Caritas Australia uses very little of the money donated on administration, so you know that the funds raised, go directly to local people’s organizations. We can really make a difference “For all Future Generations”, the theme of Project Compassion 2022.

Every student has been given a Project Compassion Box to remind them of the need to contribute to this Appeal. If each student donates just $5 every week of Lent, which began on Ash Wednesday in Week 5 of Term 1, Trinity College would contribute over $30,000 to Project Compassion. Just imagine how many communities Caritas could help with this money. Please be generous and make your donation by returning it, in your Project Compassion Box, in an envelope marked Project Compassion. All donations to make life better for all future generations, need to be returned by end of next week please.

Caritas Ukraine Appeal

Congratulations to Junior School for raising $1,393.20 in donations for the Caritas Ukraine Appeal and to Year 12 Faith Prefects for the Ukraine Raffle which raised $634.15. Thank you to everyone who bought tickets to support this Appeal. Please don't forget there are many other places in the world which need our help. Caritas Australia is changing lives every day with projects that help people who are  living in poverty. We only have one more week to make donations for the 2022 Caritas Australia Project Compassion Appeal. Please be generous! You can bring your donations in to your PCG from Monday next week.

Community Mass

This morning, we celebrated our final Friday Community Mass for Term One.  Thank you to all the PCGs who hosted Masses, bravely read and also rang the CBC bell over the term.  A special thank you to Fr Ruben, a Servite Priest, who celebrated Mass for us today and to 11.3 and 11.4 for hosting it.  A special mention to all our EMHC and the altar servers over the term, Myles and Lachlan Brown, Michael Brennan and Brendan Carrabba.

Wishing everyone a Happy Easter and safe holiday.  Hopefully, parents will soon be able to attend Friday Mass.
