Inaugural TC v Greenwood Volleyball

As our PSA season draws to a close, Trinity Volleyball was fortunate to host combined teams from Greenwood College’s Volleyball specialist programme early this morning. All the games were  played with a great spirit, with a focus on enjoyment, participation and relationship building. In the first time we have played for the Trinity-Greenwood Shield, Greenwood came away with a narrow victory 226 to 182, which represented less that three points per set!

2021/22 Basketball Wrap Up

This week saw the wrap up of the 2021/2022 Summer sports season with a low key windup. It was great to see 2020/21 1st V Captain Chase Ridley there to present badges and the awards.

It what was an eventful year with many close finishes, epic wins and tight losses, over 300 boys represented the Blue and Green playing basketball. Overall, many of our teams showed a great deal of improvement over the course of the season. I speak for all the boys and take this opportunity to thank all the staff, old boys and external coaches for their commitment and knowledge they have instilled in the boys over the course of the season.

Congratulations must go to the following boys for their outstanding season with their respective teams.

Meet your Cricket Captain!

Evan French

Do you have any pre-game rituals? If so, what are they?

I like to have a freshly harvested coffee to start my morning off. When driving to games I like to plan out how my day on the field will go.

You can invite three guests to dinner, dead or alive, who do you chose?

Conor McGregor, Mitchell Johnson, and Muhammad Ali

Do you have any pets?

A dog called Harley, (Maltese Shih Tzu)

Favourite quote:

"The more you seek the uncomfortable, the more you will become comfortable." – Conor McGregor

Favourite subject:

Maths

Favourite movie or TV series:

Red Dog

Favourite band or musician:

Tame Impala

Who has had the most influence on you?

My dad and brothers. They have passed down knowledge which inspires me to reflect about myself and my performance in and out of school.

What advice would you give to younger students who aim to play First team?

Be patient. Patience is the hardest quality for our male bodies to develop, so wait for your results to determine your position in a first’s side and when that time comes, focus on your strengths on field and not your weaknesses.

What is your favourite Trinity memory?

Having a nervous meeting with the cricket coaches when I found out I was captaining the First Cricket team for the 2021/22 season.
