Solos & Chamber Concert

On Tuesday 29th March, students from Instrumental Music performed in our first Greater Shepparton Secondary College Solos & Chamber Concert. This was an opportunity to use the Theatrette and gave our 2022 Music Leaders, Kesalini Muli, Josh Mansur and Steph Ludlow, their first official duties when they emc'eed the concert. It was great to see a wide variety of performances and plenty of people in the audience enjoying the results of all the hard work the students had been doing during Term 1.

Instrumental Music Program Recruitment

If you were unable to attend any of the Welcome BBQs, you still have the opportunity to join the instrumental music program by clicking this link. Make sure you select three instrument preferences as we like to have balanced ensembles to create a much better experience for the students. The Instruments available to learn at school are:

  • Brass – Tuba, Euphonium, Trombone, French Horn and Trumpet
  • Percussion – includes drum kit, xylophone, timpani
  • Strings – Double Bass, Cello, Viola and Violin
  • Woodwind – Saxophone, Clarinet and Flute
  • Voice and Keyboard

We have plenty of brass, woodwind and string instruments available to hire from the school too. Smaller instruments are offered for a year, then by availability, larger instruments can be hired for the whole time the students attend GSSC. If you need any further information, contact me at school or email lachlan.gallacher@education.vic.gov.au
