Junior School Report
We warmly welcome our students to Term 2 at Scoresby Secondary College, and hope that you all had a safe and restful Easter break. It has been a fantastic start to the term, with students looking great in their winter uniform.
We hope that students have had time to reflect on their learning from last term, and that along with the feedback given to them by their teachers on Parent / Student / Teacher Conferences, have set themselves some achievable yet challenging learning goals.
A reminder to students that homework club is a fantastic tool that can be utilised by students needing extra support and a quiet space to complete their homework. Homework club takes place in the Resource Centre every Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3pm- 4pm.
Year 9 Morrisby Testing
Last week, the Year 9 students participated in our Morrisby interview sessions which involvedeach student meeting with Careers Counsellor, Ms Bronwyn Haines, and their parent / guardian to discuss their results of their profile .
Towards the end of the first term, the year 9 cohort sat a two- hour Morrisby test in order to compile a unique careers portfolio. In the first week of the second term, each of us had a meeting with a career’s instructor from Morrisby, who helped us explore our portfolio and navigate the website. The information we gained from completing the test includes our personality type, learning style, aptitudes, career recommendations, subject recommendations and much more - we received this information in a small booklet, but it can also be accessed via their website. They also recommended that we complete a few more tests to better shape and configure future career and educational opportunities. We learnt more about ourselves and obtained some very useful information which will guide us down the right educational pathway for our future professions. Overall, the experience was extremely beneficial and eye opening for all. Zach Bisset and Anna Harper

College Open Day and Night
Last week, the College held its annual Open Day and Night and it was an outstanding success. In particular, the Junior School team would like to acknowledge the impressive number of students in Junior School (Years 7- 9) who returned to the College after school to offer assistance to the teachers and help lead many of the activities that took place throughout the night. They represented our College with pride, shared their positive learning experiences with prospective parents and families, and brought a burst of energy and positivity to the night. Well done to all!
