TAC/AFL Unity Cup Tournament

@Latrobe University

Each year the AFL and TAC hold a Unity Cup tournament involving over 600 participants from all genders, school and community clubs. The tournament's main sponsors are the AFL, TAC, VicHealth, and Australian Federal Police.

This year the Cup was held on 27 March at Latrobe University's Bundoora campus and connects the students with community members, peers and AFL professionals with the potential to develop pathways in the AFL.

The Cup aims to foster inclusion and break down cultural barriers while increasing community participation; and build resilience and wellbeing in young people as they learn Australia's national game.

MSC were the only school from Melton to participate. We are very grateful to the AFL for providing us with bus transport, lunch and jerseys; and we look forward to continuing our relationship with them.

Congratulations to MSC students Ella, Akira, and Jazzika who played in the winning All Nations girls' team and were awarded TAC Unity Medals.

MSC also had students play in the boys under 13's and 17's but unfortunately the teams failed to reach the finals.

We are proud of the TEAMWORK and courage shown by our students and look forward to next year's tournament.

Finally, many thanks to our wonderful staff members - Mr Morley, Ms Caruana and Ms Zivave who gave their time to ensure that our students were safe and supported.
