Shakespeare comes to St Joseph’s

Currently, the Year 9 and 10 students are studying the works of William Shakespeare, focusing on 'Romeo and Juliet' and 'Macbeth', respectively. As such, they had the opportunity to view this performance live when the Complete Works Shakespeare Company visited St Joseph's on Tuesday.

These talented actors provided an incredible learning experience for our students, who were so fortunate to have the chance to see these plays presented live. Furthermore, between acts and at the conclusion of the play, the actors offered insights into the play, explaining specific elements of the text, and answering student questions. The students took a lot away from this learning experience, which will assist them in the classroom.

NAPLAN next week

All Year 7 and 9 students will participate in NAPLAN testing between 10 -13 May.

As has been the case in previous years we will be completing NAPLAN online. This will require all students to have a fully charged laptop for their testing days as well as a set of earphones that are able to be plugged into or can connect to their laptop.

NAPLAN is a great opportunity for St Joseph’s College to understand your child's academic progress in their schooling so far. It provides us with an opportunity to understand areas in literacy and numeracy where they are strong and should be extended or areas where they may struggle and will require further support and development.
