VCE Careers Expo

On Friday 29 April the Year 12s finally set off on their first Pathways Experience in 3 years to the VCE Careers Expo at Caulfield Racecourse.

Students were given two hours to attend seminars on anything from:

  • preparation for English Exams
  • joining the Defence Forces
  • Child Care Industry
  • Building and Construction
  • Early Entry Programs into university.

The Expo has the largest number of exhibitors, and students were given the opportunity to gain the latest information on courses/diplomas and employment opportunities.  LaTrobe University, Deakin, Monash and Melbourne were among the most popular ones, however students also spoke to Longerenong Agricultural College, Carlton Football Club and Defence Forces.

After departing the Expo, the Year 12 group split into two with one visiting the Top Arts 2022 and the other taking a tour of the University of Melbourne.

The Top Arts 2022 gave our arts students an opportunity to view the extraordinary works of art and folios that achieved outstanding results in VCE Studio Art, Visual Communication and Product Design & Technology.

Whilst at the University of Melbourne some students were able to view the amazing facilities in the Health Science area especially the Dental Clinic whilst others were amazed at the size of the university and the facilities that were available to students.

One comment from a student was that 'it’s like a city within a city!'

Beacon Business Breakfast

On Thursday 7 April the 2022 Beacon Leaders from all five schools in Echuca Moama attended the Beacon Business Breakfast and were presented with their badges and introduced to the Business Leaders of Echuca Moama.

The students hosted the event and were outstanding in their presentation, speaking and networking.

Lillianne Jansen 2021 Beacon Leader spoke at the event about her experiences as a Beacon Leader and how it had supported her in gaining the confidence to speak in front of large crowds and also her peer groups.

Congratulations to everyone on a very successful Beacon Business Breakfast. Our next event is the Beacon Careers Expo on 31 May for our Year 10 students.
