Sports Report

State Swimming

Term 2 has had a flying start, with 14 of our students making it to the State Swimming.

Unfortunately, our 17yr Boys Relay Team consisting of Nash Ramage, Will Rohde, Hugh Byrne & Will Poulton were unable to attend the event due to illness.

Amelia O’Grady was first to swim in the 50m Breaststroke and finished in an impressive 7th place.

Brandon Batey represented St Joseph’s College with pride qualifying in four events. What a fantastic effort!

Nash Ramage qualified in three events, but was unwell and unfortunately unable to swim.

Our 14yr Boys 4 x 50m Relay Team (Angus Watson, Ned Ash-Townrow, Charlie Byrne & Jett Kervin) showed great determination after a little bit of a slow start. They swam so well and showed why they made it to State Swimming. Well done!

Our 13yr Boys 4 x 50m Relay Team consisting of Mitchell Sutton, Oscar Coombs, Bodhi Teasdale-Dohnt and Van Lowry were impressive, pulling off an exceptional swim and walking away with a Bronze medal! What can we say other than WOW!

Sending huge congratulations to all of you!

LMR Tennis

Staff and students had a great day at the Loddon Mallee Region tennis finals in sunny Mildura on Tuesday.

The Senior Boys had a closely contested match but went down by a couple of games. The Senior Girls unfortunately lost both of their matches, but did themselves and our school proud.

CONGRATULATIONS to our Year 7 Boys who won their match for the day, and to the Year 8 Girls who won both of their matches.

These two teams will now go through to State Level Competition.

Team members include:

  • Year 7 Boys Team (Archer Weeks, Ben Henson, Patrick Keele, Jack Byrne, Mac Ryan)
  • Year 8 Girls Team (Rose Byrne, Georgia Mahoney, Lila Mahoney, Madi Williams)

We are very proud of all of you and send our best wishes with you to the State Comp.
