Running Club

Running Club will be held on Tuesday and Thursday mornings for the whole school community. All participants will be given a QR Code that will count the laps completed each session through an online program. Reward incentives will be acknowledged when accumulated totals reach 5km, 10km, 21km and 42kms. This club is more of a celebration of physical activity of all types in an inclusive environment. Hence, laps can be completed by running, walking, skipping, hopping etc.

Importance of physical activity

Physical activity is extremely important to ensure children and teenagers to grow healthy. Unfortunately, 1 in 10 (12%) children aged 5–12 and only 2% of young people aged 13–17 met both the physical activity and sedentary screen-based behaviour guidelines. The current trend of statistics is on the decline. Let's change this trend and get our children active.

Jump Rope for Heart

Jump Rope for Heart is back at Marangaroo Primary School this term. There will be optional jumping activity sessions during students' lunchbreaks on a Monday and a Wednesday and a whole school jump day on a Friday during School Sport. A goal for the whole school has been set to fundraise $4000. Remember, there are individual prizes up for grabs! All fundraising goes towards supporting Australians living with heart disease. Your generous support helps to educate people and fund research to better prevent and manage heart disease into the future At the end of term, there will be a jump off day (date TBA) for students to show off their jumping skills. Please check Class Dojo feed for registrations or ask your classroom teacher for more information.

Let's work together to achieve this goal!
