We would like to again welcome back our P-2 students and families to Term 4. It has been lovely to have P-2 students back in the classrooms full-time and into the routines of school onsite. Unfortunately, we have had some disruptions and closures across the college and want to recognise the way in which everyone has been able to quickly adapt to these changes and continue to learn and support one another.
In this edition we would like to put a spotlight on our amazing specialist program we have here at the college. We are fortunate to have a large team of passionate staff in a range of different areas who are able to engage and support our students beyond their regular classroom.
In Indonesian, students have focussed on vocabulary for body parts and colours using songs, posters and drawings. They have created their own monsters and described the colours of their body parts.
This term in Performing Arts students have been very busy engaging in a variety of activities which assist them to further develop a wide range of skills. Students have been exploring and practicing using their voice, movement, body percussion and instruments to sing songs, perform dance and imitate sounds, beat, rhythm and pitch.
During Term 4 the P-2 Students are continuing to develop their Fundamental Motor Skills through skills development and game scenarios. Playing by the rules and starting to focus on strategies in games is a heavy focus which the P-2 Communities are fantastic at. We cannot forget the old favourite - Pound Puppies, a game we can all clearly play all day is allowed! Plenty of fun and movement is the key!
In November students in P-2 will have the opportunity to participate in the free after school program Woolworths Cricket Blast. Over the 4 weeks they will be introduced to the sport of cricket, teaching valuable skills such as catching, throwing, batting and teamwork!
