Ellen Jose Reconciliation Art Awards
"As a young person, what does reconciliation mean to you?"
This week is National Reconciliation Week. The theme is ‘Be a Voice for Generations’. We had many students who used that voice through art in their submissions to the Ellen Jose Reconciliation Art Awards. All award entries, including those submitted by BRPS students, can be viewed via the following link: https://www.bayside.vic.gov.au/EJAA2023
BRPS also had five finalists in the award. Art Teacher Olivia Winfield and I were lucky enough to attend the flag-raising and presentation ceremony at Bayside Council on Saturday 27th March. The five finalists were: Rosalie Pretty (2S), Lua Capedeville-Davies (4Z), Mila Tehan (5L), Freddy Hope (5D) and Lola Fernandez (5D).
Lola took out first prize in her category with a stunning piece of artwork.
All finalists' art works are on display in the foyer at Bayside Council, it is well worth a look if you can drop down there. Thank you to Olivia Winfield for her strong support of all of the students with their submissions this year.
