What's Happening in our Classrooms

Education Week Parent Expo Night

Tuesday 15th May 2023

Education Week is an annual celebration to showcase education in Victorian schools. This year’s theme was ‘Active Learners: Move, Make, Motivate’, which celebrates physical activity, hands-on learning and student voice in education. And what a wonderful showcase it was!

As Grade 4 teachers, we were grateful to have the opportunity to share the amazing work produced by our talented students and have time to play some educational games with our families. There were lots of smiles, discussions and fun as the students shared a variety of Writing, Reading, Numeracy and Inquiry tasks with their families. Thankyou for the lovely feedback from the families on how much they enjoyed this night of celebration and learning. The Grade 4 teachers enjoyed having families back into our school once again and hope that we have further opportunities to share our teaching and student learning with you all.

To go along with the theme for Education Week, some activities we shared with the families were:

Make - Create a picture with the tangrams, can you make it faster than Mum and Dad??

Move - ‘Go Noodle’ dances on the interactive whiteboards. Have you seen Go Noodle before? If not, here is a link to the Grade 4s favourite Go Noodle dances:

Motivate - Using student’s iPads, students showed their parents their plan for Inquiry with their learning question. They shared how they will research their question and share their information with the class.

Here are some photos of the night. Enjoy!
