Visit from Dr Anton Hassel
On Wednesday 3rd May, some of us had the privilege of hearing Dr Anton Hassel talk about his unique and fascinating career. It was interesting to learn about his digital and traditional design of bells and their interactive public-space installation, including the federation bells carillon which some of you may have seen in Melbourne.
We also had the pleasure of learning about some other projects he has worked on, including the Long Now 10,000-year clock project in Texas USA, where a progressive algorithm will ring ten bells in a different sequence each day over the course of 10,000 years.
Thank you, Anton, for giving us the opportunity to learn about your amazing career in an engaging way.
