Diocesan Cross Country - Barraba 19th May
On Friday the 19th of May, 29 students from St Mary of the Angels Guyra travelled to Barraba to compete in the Armidale Diocesan Cross Country Trials. All students put in their best efforts and we are proud to see Hugo Sisson placing 1st in the 8/9 year boys, Flynn McFarlane placing 4th in the 10 year boys, Scarlett Newberry placing 3rd and Isabella Hayes placing 6th in the 11 year girls and Elle Bavea placing 4th in the 12/13 year girls now heading to NSWCPS in Sydney on the 13th of June. Well done to all the children and best of luck to those heading to Sydney next month.
Dioceasan Rugby Union trials - 29th May
On Monday 28th Schools were invited to attend the Diocesan Rugby Union trials and Gary McSweeney Cup held in Tamworth. St Mary of the Angels sport stars Darcy Sisson, Hugo Sisson, Flynn McFarlane, and Peter Grills represented the school with putting in a huge effort in competing in the days events. The boys combined with Armidale and Walcha, playing a high standard of footy in the spirit rugby. The boys displayed great skill and enjoyment was had on the field. Darcy was selected to Probables and Possibles hit out, Congratulations boys for your sporting commitment and achievements.
House Colours
St Mary of the Angels have 3 school house colours. We encourage our students to wear these on the day of the swimming carnival (as well as all future sport events), alternatively, sports uniform can be worn. In 2023 the school house colours are:
McAuley - RED
Mercy - BLUE
Mackillop - YELLOW (previously green however this has been changed as of 2023 to not clash with the school uniform)
