Principal News

Dear Sacred Heart School Community,

Prayer

Thank You

A big thank you to Giovanna (aunty of our Year One student Joseph) who has so kindly donated some books to our school library. As you can see from the images below, they will be very sought after once they are catalogued. Again thank you so much Giovanna for your thoughtfulness.

Taking Precautions

As you will be aware, many of our staff have been affected by COVID this week.

Detailed below is a lovely email from one of our parents I received earlier this week.

Hi Ms Amanda

I would like to thank you for being a role model for Stella (hugs).

I did speak to Stella yesterday morning about wearing a mask because there is a Covid wave and wearing that will keep ourselves as well as others safe. She didn't seem to really listen, haha.

Yesterday after school, she told me "Mummy can you please bring my mask tomorrow so I can wear one like Ms Amanda". I'm very impressed!

Thank you again for always looking after our kids.

CC Mark in so he knows how much our children love Ms Amanda :)

Sharon

Annual Report to the School Community

Every year our school is mandated to publish its annual report about the previous years practices, procedures and initiatives across five spheres; Catholic Mission and Faith, Learning and Teaching, Leadership and Management, Student Wellbeing and Community. The report details how our school has continued its drive for improved practices and identifies areas for further growth. Our Annual Report to the School Community for 2022 was submitted to Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS) two weeks ago for ratification, and disseminated to our School Board at its last meeting. Once ratified, this document will be published on our school website for all to read.

Enrolments for Foundation Class 2024

Our enrolments for our Foundation 2024 class close on Friday 9th June. We have a closing date so that preparations can commence for our new students transition to school and forming their class. If we still have positions after the closing date, enrolments will be accepted. If you know of any one who is looking for a school for their child to commence their education in 2024, let them know about Sacred Heart.

New Adventure Playground

I was contacted yesterday by the playground equipment supplier, that work on our new playground will now commence on Tuesday 13th June. The original date given as the beginning of this week has had to change because of supply issues. Work on our playground will take about a week to complete.

Feast of the Sacred Heart

As indicated in last week's newsletter, our school and parish feast day will be celebrated on Sunday 18th June. We will be getting together with our parish family to acknowledge this special day. Further details will be announced in the week.

Change of Next Assembly Date

Please be aware that our next whole school assembly has had to be changed to Thursday 8th June because of an unavoidable clash of dates.

Yours Sincerely

Mark Tierney
