G’day G’day Everyone,

We hope everyone has enjoyed their first few weeks back at school after a long and restful holiday. While school is picking up with the SAC season around the corner, there have been plenty of events going on throughout the school community.

The much anticipated World’s Greatest Shave event took place over the 30th of April and 1st of May with 25 people either cutting or shaving their hair. Both students and teachers shaved their heads in support of the Leukaemia foundation, to help us reach a whopping $22.5k. Even though we couldn’t convince Corky to shave an eyebrow, we would still like to thank all of the teachers willing to get ice bucketed, a pie in the face, or perform the chicken dance to help us smash our target. Each of these boxes below are the amazing things that we could do with these donations!

To continue the school’s emphasis on students expressing their voice in the school community, the School Review is also coming up in Week 5. Over the last few weeks, the Student Parliament has been playing a significant role reviewing data from the annual Attitudes to School Survey to determine ways in which student wellbeing and academic performance can be improved in future years. This is a novel inclusion of student input on an official review, and it’s been an honour to contribute to the school’s future development. The final step will be completed in the week of the 23rd of May, with a team of external assessors helping the school formulate its next four year plan. We look forward to working with the principal and teaching team to continue giving voice to the student body.

We wish everyone the best of luck for the rest of the term!

Lots of love, Your school captains

The School Captains and JMSS Noticeboard Committee now create a weekly bulletin to keep staff and students aware of important events during the week. Keep an eye out for these emails and displayed on screens across school.
