Principal's News

All students attending St Louis de Montfort's Aspendale have the right to feel safe. The care, safety and wellbeing of children and young people is a fundamental responsibility of all within our school.

Good afternoon families,

Welcome back to Term 3, I hope you have all had a wonderful holiday and had time to slow down and relax.

Later this term I am going on a pilgrimage with 11 other principals from the peninsula.

We will be walking the last part of the Camino de Santiago, known in English as the Way of St James. The pilgrimage leads to the shrine of the apostle Saint James the Great in the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in Galicia in northwestern Spain, where tradition holds that the remains of the apostle are buried.

I will be walking 110 km over 11 days and take time to reflect and pray on my own faith and also to walk along side of other pilgrims from all over the world. While I am away, I will share my pilgrimage reflections with the school community through the newsletter.

District/Division Sport

Congratulations to our Year 6 AFL- Girls team who competed on Wednesday in the District competition and they won!!!

The girls now go onto the Division competition on Monday 17 July.

The AFL boys team will be competing in the Division competition on Wednesday 19 July

We wish both teams all the very best.

Term 3 School closure

The teachers will be participating in a Professional Learning day on Friday 18 August. The staff will be engaged in English and Wellbeing

Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools Improvement Survey (MACSSIS)

The annual online survey will be sent out to all parents on Monday 28 August. The survey closes on Friday 15 September 2023.

MACSSIS is a low impact, high return set of tools for creating, collecting, analysing, interpreting and using data to inform Catholic school improvement. MACSSIS produces perception data. This data tells us about what different people in a school community think and feel about their learning environment.

It is really valuable information for St Louis to collect and we ask as many parents as possible to complete the survey. The perception data we collect help us to develop our annual action plan for the coming year.

Canteen

The canteen will no longer be operating on a Wednesday for this term.

Library

We have 1200 over due library books at this period in time.

Could you please look in your house for any library books that may be hiding at your place.
