Nossal’s Wind Symphony at the Victorian School Music Festival
On Tuesday 21 August, the Wind Symphony performed at the annual Victorian School Music Festival in the Intermediate Section for Concert Bands. The adjudicators for the day were: Matthew McInturf , (Professor of Music, Director of Bands and Director of the Center for Music Education at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas) and Jenny Going, who is currently Musical Director of the Essendon Symphony.
The Nossal ensemble played 'Such Small Things' by Nathan Daughtrey and 'The King Across the Water' by Bruce Fraser. The adjudicators were impressed by the percussion section stating that it was “the most sensitive percussion section they had heard”. Nossal's Wind Symphony received Excellent or Outstanding rankings in all categories and was awarded with a Gold rating overall.
