School Bus Timetable Adjustments, Trip Planning and use of Student Opal Cards

Service adjustments from Sunday 28 July:  To improve reliability and meet customer demand, timetable adjustments will occur on many bus routes from Sunday 28 July.  There are also changes to the timetables of many school services.

Please see the information below regarding changes to some School Bus services which will come into effect on the 28 July 2019.

Trip planning and further information:  Parents and students are encouraged to plan their trip to see if these timetable changes will impact the way that they currently travel to and from school.  More information, including timetables, maps, Trip Planning and school service details is available at transportnsw.info .  You can also view school service information on the Transit Systems website – transitsystems.com.au .

Student Opal Card Reminder:  Please ensure your students are aware of the condition of use of their Opal Card, and the importance of carrying and using their card whenever they travel.

It is a condition of travel that all students tap on with their Student Opal card every time they board the bus, and tap off when they alight.  This allows Transport for NSW and bus operators to assess the patronage of bus services, including School Special buses, to ensure that resources are used efficiently and meet customer demand.

Years 7 & 8 History:  'Timelines Past' Incursion

In the last week of Term 2, Year 7 and 8 History students took part in a very enjoyable incursion. The experts from a group called Timelines Past came to the College to present and run activities on ancient Greece warfare and Imperial China. The boys rotated in groups through a hands-on activity with artefacts from China’s past to a presentation on the Great Wall of China and a historical investigation into the death of a Greek soldier at the Battle of Marathon. They were also able to have a hands-on experience with real and replica artefacts from other ancient Greek wars.

The students were very engaged and the presenters were impressed by their questions and knowledge. The teachers thank the students for their involvement and Timelines Past for their interesting methods of bringing history to life for us.
