ODE

Assessments have been submitted, and the final excursion of the year has come and gone. Outdoor Ed for 2018 is a wrap!

A very busy semester two for our Y9 Outdoor Ed students was capped off last week with a two day camp down at Anglesea. We had glorious conditions for the first day, where we participated in Surf lessons with Go Ride A Wave on Anglesea main beach. All of our participants had a great experience, and have developed skills which they will be able to use again in the future.

Our students were also able to apply their camp craft skills to a practical experience, and this will hopefully stand those who are continuing on to VCE Outdoor and Environmental Studies next year in good stead, with any more opportunities to camp and explore to come.

Our second day saw some scorching temperatures and high winds challenge the group before we made our way back to school. Some were tired, some were a little sun burnt, but everybody had a fantastic experience and went home with smiles on their faces.

As a reminder to parents of students undertaking Outdoor Ed with Mr Kilroy in Y10 – course payment to secure your child’s spot is required ASAP if this has not been taken care of already. For families with a Health Care Card – $250 of CSEF funding is available if you have completed the necessary paperwork.
