The annual school Cross Country Championships were held around the picturesque lakes of the Cecil Hills in week 3. Congratulations to all competitors for their efforts on the day.

Bernera Zone Cross Country Carnival
On a sunny day at Fairfield Showground, our team of 75 distance runners displayed excellent endurance, determination and tremendous school spirit to retain the zone cross country championship.
All students should be extremely proud of their efforts. We had eight Age Champions and had 41 students qualify to compete at the Regional Championships.
We won the Girls Points score, the Boys Points score and the Overall Points Score by 229 points.

Our U14, U16 and Opens boys and girls futsal teams competed at the Football NSW Futsal Regional Championships recently.

The U14 and U16 girls were undefeated and deservedly crowned Regional Champions!
The U14 A boys, U14, U16 and Opens girls teams will now compete at the State Championships in July.

Futsal is a sport widely embraced by the students here at our school and we will continue to foster the development of our students.
Combined High Schools Football
Thomas Todd and Jarred McKinley represented SSW at the Combined High Schools (CHS) Boys Football Championships in Wollongong. Jarred was selected in the NSW CHS 2’s squad to compete at the NSW All Schools Championships. Congratulations to both boys for their fantastic efforts at the State Championships. They did themselves, their families and Cecil Hills High School proud. Their individual successes prove that a student does not have to attend a Sports high school to achieve great things in sport.

Congratulations
Congratulations to Patrick Adams of Year 7 on his selection in the NSW Junior Baseball League team. Patrick will be travelling to Japan later this month, participating in the PONY League South East Asia Tournament . This will certainly be a memorable experience for Patrick and we're looking forward to hearing all about your trip when you return.
