P & F News
As this is our first newsletter as a P & F group for 2020, we would like to welcome our new Foundation families to the St Fidelis community. We look forward to meeting you and sharing with you the journey of your child’s schooling.
We had our first meeting last week, and are already busy planning some exciting events and fundraisers for Terms 1 and 2. Likewise, we have also begun brainstorming some ideas for Terms 3 and 4.
Our expectations for a successful P & F event and fundraising year can only be met with the support and generosity of our St. Fidelis school community. So we thank-you in advance for any time and effort you dedicate towards our whole school cause.

Second-hand Uniform Sale
After School on Monday 2nd March, Carly and Dan will be running the first second-hand uniform stall for the year. You will find the stall situated in the Saunders Street yard, but in wet weather conditions, it will be situated in the corridor at the front of the school library. At this stall, you can purchase all the required uniform items for only $2, with the exception of the school jumper and girls winter pinafore, which will be sold for $5. The uniform items available for purchase are subject to stock availability and quality. Just a reminder to you all, there are no EFTPOS facilities available at this stall.
IT IS SUGGESTED THAT ALL ITEMS BE NAMED.
Special Food Day – Thursday 27th February
Get your children excited for the upcoming special food day! Delicious SUSHI SUSHI HAND ROLLS, BAKER’S DELIGHT MARGHERITA PIZZA and CHOCOLATE OR STRAWBERRY DONUTS are on the menu. Keep an eye out for notices detailing prices of food and when and how to order.
Easter Raffle
To engage in the upcoming Easter celebrations, St. Fidelis P & F are organising an Easter Raffle. Shortly, families will receive information on how to purchase raffle tickets that go in the draw to win an Easter Hamper (drawn on Friday 27th March). We kindly ask for your support towards this raffle by donating ONE EASTER-THEMED ITEM PER FAMILY. Some suggested ideas are as follows – Chocolate eggs / bunnies, Easter craft activity packs or even Easter themed socks, toys and books. Any contribution is greatly appreciated, and we ask that ALL DONATIONS be placed in the provided box in your child’s classroom between the 27th February and 13th March. We request donations prior to the sale of raffle tickets so that we can organise the Easter hampers, which will be on display in the school foyer for your observation.
Bunnings' Sausage Sizzle
Coming up, on Labour Day long weekend, is St. Fidelis’ turn to run the famous BUNNINGS' SAUSAGE SIZZLE. On Monday 9th March, we call on you, our family and friends to assist us with this profitable fundraiser. We ask that you put aside only 2 hours (or more) of your day to volunteer alongside your fellow St. Fids P & F to cook for and serve our community locals. We are currently in the process of putting together a roster for the day, which will run from 8am – 4pm. During this time we require volunteers to help with set-up, cooking, serving, pack-up and money counting.

P & F General Meeting
The next Parents and Friends general meeting will be held on Monday 2nd March at 7:30pm in the St. Fidelis Staffroom. Everyone is WELCOMED and ENCOURAGED to join our discussions. In fact, we would LOVE to see some fresh faces, with some new ideas!
The P & F committee is a positive way to engage in your child’s learning by building relationships with parents across all year levels of the school community, the staff members within the school and the St. Fidelis extended community. Every year the P & F members discuss ways to improve the quality of your child’s education by organising events and fundraisers that not only provide access to funds for school improvement, but also present the children with a range of activities that help them develop a strong sense of belonging and identity within their school community. REMEMBER – ALL ARE WELCOME, so save the date: MONDAY 2ND MARCH @ 7:30PM (Staffroom).
