Homework Support
The Migrant Information Centre (MIC), Eastern Melbourne is commencing a new homework support program for newly arrived secondary school students from refugee backgrounds. They are currently recruiting for volunteers
What: Recruitment for Homework Support, volunteer Tutors to support students in a range of subjects.
When: Homework Club runs Tuesdays during school term, 4pm - 5:30pm

Skills & Jobs Centre
The Skills & Jobs Centre are teaming up with OELLEN to deliver a series of information sessions for parents/guardians/mentors/cheer leaders of young school leavers to help provide advice on Education/Employment pathways.
The first session (27th of July) is more general and will include:
- practical advice to guide a young person in career choices
- current programs and initiatives for young people
- online resources to access for support
- identify what skills and experience employers are looking for
- how to frame career conversation in the home
- looking after mental health and well-being in the careers space
Sessions to follow will focus on Trades (14/08), Healthcare (14/09) & Hospitality/Tourism (12/10) with tours of the BHI Lilydale Lakeside campus being run in November.
