Parent Network
In 2015 LNPS will continue to build upon our successful Parent Network – first established by the Education Committee of Governing Council in 2010 - which comprises of one, two or more volunteer parents from each class in the school.
The role of Class Parents is to:
1. Assisting the class teacher(s) with tasks such as organising and coordinating other parents for school events. (e.g. excursions, camps, swimming lessons, parent workshops/meetings, coffee mornings, fundraising activities etc)
2. Supporting ways to ensure communication between the class teacher(s) and other parents is effective.
3. Taking the time to meet class families and welcoming and supporting new families into the class and school community.
4. Linking with another Class Parent and teachers to buddy up and share some class events with other classes.
5. Supporting the organisation of social events to build community-mindedness.
6. Attending and promoting Education Forums
Communication with the Class Parent should never replace talking directly with your child’s teacher or the school leadership team. It is not the role of the Class Parent to be a “go-to” or “go-between” if a problem arises. All parents have access to their child’s teacher and members of the school leadership team in various ways. If required, please refer to the Concerns and Complaints Policy for an explanation of protocols.
All parents are also encouraged to access the class newsletters, school newsletters, school policy brochures or the school website for up to date information about the school and our policies and practices.
