School Cricket
It was great to see all three Lockleys North cricket teams play a cricket game on the weekend. The weather was perfect and of course it is always a great opportunity for the players to get some further match experience to put their training into practice.
Weekly Results:
A Grade: Nazareth (77) def LNPS (54). Considering it was their first match in a while, the team put in a solid effort all round. During Term 1, SACA have implemented a number of changes to the A Grade rules to close the gap between junior and senior cricket, so all are getting used to the changes mid-season!
B Grade: Torrensville (341) def LNPS (323). A close match, however the fielding strength of Torrensville won out in the end. The team continues to improve their bowling skills and Jye again showed batting strength by hitting three ‘4s’ plus an impressive ‘6’. The spirit of sportsmanship was displayed with LNPS providing an additional player to Torrensville to enable a fair and even contest. Many thanks to Rick for his efforts.
C Grade: Fulham North (357) def LNPS (266). Despite the end result, another fantastic effort by the team and thanks to Fulham North for lending extras in the field. Chaz & Michael both showed some great ‘glove work’ and congratulations to Beau & Liam who both took wickets. Liam’s text book hook shot ‘4’ brought the crowd to its feet!
This Weekends Fixture:
A Grade: LNPS vs West Lakes Shore (Away Match). Match to be held at Jubilee Park, Hawkesbury Way, West Lakes.
B Grade: LNPS vs West Beach White (Home Match)*
C Grade: LNPS vs Torrensville (Away Match). Match to be held at Torrensville Primary, Hayward Avenue, Torrensville.
*Note: West Beach White may be short on numbers due to involvement in Surf Lifesaving Titles this weekend. Further updates will be provided at training on Thursday.
