The students from 34A have been learning about procedural genre as part of Literacy Workshops. As an extension of this, students have learnt about scientific procedural methods. As such, students were asked to conduct and experiment to consider how by using newspapers, they could be keep a book from touching the ground. Student’s developed their own hypothesis, listed their materials, considered design procedures and conducted their experiments. Their designs were so unique! Best of all, they demonstrated the value in procedural writing and creating thinking. Oh and how to have lots of fun in the process (pun intended).
