Careers News
Year 12 students are nearing the end of their secondary school education and are starting to plan the first step of their future career journey beyond school. Students are excited to be applying for further study, apprenticeships or employment, depending on what is their future interest area. The careers team have worked very closely with all year 12 students during term 3, to help them to apply for University or TAFE courses. Congratulations to the many students have received early offers to study courses at Swinburne, Deakin and Victoria University. These students can now concentrate on working hard to finish their year 12 course and graduate knowing that they have already been accepted into further study. Careers have also assisted students who wish to secure an apprenticeship or enter employment after year 12.
All of our Year 12 tertiary applicants have also been assisted to apply for the Special Entry Access Scheme (SEAS), which will give them additional consideration or bonus ATAR points, and help them to get into their chosen courses. Many students have also taken the time to complete a Scholarship application, which if successful, will provide them with additional financial support or sometimes resources, such as a free laptop.
The careers team will continue to work with every year 12 student in the coming months, including into 2023, to ensure that they have the best chance of receiving an offer for study or work. We have many of our alumni who also keep in touch with us to seek our help after they have graduated from Dandenong High School. We are delighted to hear from all our past students and more than happy to continue to provide support as they make their own way into their future careers. Current and past Year 12 students are invited to keep in touch and reach out for assistance via our careers Instagram account.
