Mr. Carlyle's Message

Hi Families.

I will start this week with a big congratulations to our interschool basketball teams who competed earlier this week. Both teams performed really well, with our return to the competition seeing students and staff enjoying the day. Well done to all students involved for representing the school brilliantly.

School Concert

Today we have sent out some further information regarding the upcoming school concert. Currently, we are inviting families to procure two adult tickets, with children admitted free.   The current cap on tickets is in response to our ongoing Infectious Diseases practices. Currently this term we have seen a spike in flu-related illness and transmission and are weary about the gym being at capacity.

We understand the enthusiasm of families to get everyone back to these school events, and we are excited to have you. We hope that families are supportive of our direction and decisions in this space, as ultimately, we are working to ensure a healthy school community.

Communication

Just some quick friendly housekeeping.  As schools have opened back up and we have welcomed you all back with open arms, I wanted to take some time in this week’s newsletter to talk about effective communication between schools and families.

A positive relationship between school and home is something we place high importance on because we know it has an impact on the learning and engagement of our students.

Families will be aware we offer communication via Xuno, phone contact, scheduled meetings, and my personal favourite the ‘at the gate chat’ in the afternoon. The time between 8:45 am and 9:00 am at drop-off isn’t an appropriate time to be having an extended conversation with your child’s teacher. This is a scheduled time for each classroom’s morning routine and this needs to be respected. This time sets all students up for a successful day of learning.

Healthy Lunch Box Choices and Nude Food

Please help reduce waste in our school by packing 'Nude Food' (food without excess packaging) in your child's lunch box. The Healthy Lunch Box Pick & Mix posters below provide some good Nude Food options.
