Management of student non-attendance
Our attendance rates have been impacted by the COVID pandemic and a greater number of days where students were kept at home due to either COVID like symptoms, close contact precautions or positive COVID results.
Student attendance is recorded through our Sentral database system and the class teacher and our Wellbeing Coordinator are both automatically notified if a student has more than 5 non-attendance or later arrivals in a term. This can then be gently followed up with families as required. More formal follow-up is provided when non-attendance reaches 10 days for any given student in a term.
Families notify the school of non-attendance via the Sentral Parent Portal/App, phone or email. For planned absences of more than five consecutive days, the Principal is required to approve the absence requested via an exemption from school form.
