Thursday Afternoon Assembly and Dismissal

Dear Parents,

Thank you for your support with our Thursday afternoon assemblies. In the past few weeks we have been refining our assembly process and Thursday afternoon dismissal procedures. Please review our assembly and dismissal procedures to ensure that our Thursday afternoon dismissal is safe for all students and runs smoothly. Dismissal will continue to run as usual on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.

Thursday Assembly Procedures

The gate will open at approximately 2:30 pm for a 2:35pm start.

Captains Welcome
Grade Presentation (The grade presenting will be communicated via the newsletter)
Diamond Award Presentation (If your child is receiving a diamond award you will receive a call prior to assembly to notify you of this).
Gold Award Presentation
Silver Award Presentation
Class Merit Award Presentation
Principal Awards Presentation
General announcements e.g. Sport or Religious news.

Dismissal Procedures for Parents/Students:

Parents will be asked to move up to the grass area. Parents are to remain on the grass area until all of the grades are seated and the teacher on duty announces that parents can collect their child from the lines.

A teacher will walk each grade to their ‘wet weather’ turning circle lines. All students (parent pick up, turning circle, after school care and walkers) will be seated in their grade lines. Students will be supervised by this teacher and only move from the lines if a parent has moved to the lines to collect them or if their name is called on the turning circle.

Please note: No students will be dismissed or standing on the asphalt area. No students will move to their parents at the grass area.

Turning Circle duty begins at 3:05pm.

Students who walk home are dismissed from the grade lines at 3:10 pm. After school care students will also be dismissed at this time.

STAFF NEWS:

Some of our staff have been provided with some new opportunities for Semester 2. Lauren Oliver will be taking up a position with ASPECT for the remainder of the year. Miss Emily Milliss will continue in Year 5 in her place. Marisa Casaceli is also taking up an opportunity in an ASPECT class. These are opportunities that don't come along often and it is a new experience for these valuable teachers. Miss Jacqueline Williams will replace Ms Cas in KP. Both of these teachers will be sadly missed but are only on leave for 6 months so hopefully we will see them return in 2024.
