Work Ready Workshops

We have developed a specially curated series of workshops focused on equipping young people to be better prepared for the workforce.The Work Ready Workshops will increase confidence navigating the employment sector for young people. To attend our Work Ready Workshops, you must be between the ages of 14 and 25 and connected to the City of Kingston (live, work, study).

  • Wednesday 10 May: Resumes, Cover Letters and Key Criteria Explained
  • Wednesday 17 May: Interview Skills
  • Wednesday 24 May: Worker Rights
  • Wednesday 31 May: Volunteering

Platform 81 Drop In

Platform 81 is open for drop in on Wednesday afternoons from 3pm to 5pm.

We have a safe, inclusive space for young people to engage with our Youth Team and participate in a variety of scheduled activities to promote social opportunities.

Drop in is available for young people 12-25 who are linked with City of Kingston (live, work, study).

YA Chat monthly in Parkdale

Kingston Youth Services is committed to providing safe spaces for young people to socialise and engage in various activities.

YA Chat is a safe and inclusive space for young people to meet socially and discuss a variety of topics including pop culture, music, TV, podcasts and books.

Grab a friend and join our youth team monthly at Parkdale Library.

To join, you must be between the ages of 13 and 21 and connected to the City of Kingston (live, work, study).

The Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) provides an opportunity for young people to be involved in formulating future directions of Council for Kingston's young people and to provide advice in relation to broad-based youth related issues within the community.

Universal Magazine Committee

Universal is a vibrant and exciting free quarterly youth magazine designed to provide an authentic representation of youth culture.

The Universal Magazine Committee is a group of creative and talented young people who meet monthly to write, edit and design each edition.

Mental Health Support (Libraries Outreach)

Exam time can be challenging for many young people. Our Youth Team will make mental health resources available to young people at the following libraries during the month of June: 

  • Parkdale
  • Cheltenham
  • Westall
  • Chelsea

A member of our Youth Team will be at each library on rotation during this time, so if you need information, support or just to chat - come say hi! 

 

Aspendale Youth Cove 

Aspendale Youth Cove is a satellite pop-up space providing opportunities for young people to engage with Youth Services and participate in a variety of activities. 

Art Mondays

From 4 - 5.30 pm weekly @ Aspendale Gardens Community Centre 

To join, you must be between the ages of 11 and 17 and connected to the City of Kingston (live, work, study)
