Cricket Report 

The Ben Venue Cricket team travelled to Walcha to play their first match in the NSW Primary School Sport Association (PSSA) knockout competition on 1 May 2023. Walcha Central School batted first and were able to score 6 for 97 off 25 overs. Best bowlers for Ben Venue were Aiden Townsend 2 for 9, Will Goodare 1 for 10, Caleb Davies 1 for 3 and Hugh Aiken 1 for 14.

Ben Venue were comfortably able to reach the target score of 98 within 10 overs. The opening batters for Ben Venue Caleb Davies 42 and Hugh Aiken 39 were joined by Marly Griffiths 41 to give Ben Venue the victory.

Ben Venue then went on to play Guyra Central School in round 5 of the PSSA Cricket knockout competition on Tuesday 9 May in Guyra. Ben venue were sent in to bat with Caleb Davies scoring 42, Marley Griffiths 40 and John Pilcher 34. The Ben Venue total was 195 off 25 overs.

 Guyra responded with a respectable 148 off their 25 overs. 

Ben Venue will now go on to play either Warialda P.S or Sir Henry Parkes P.S in round 6 of the competition.
