Kindergarten

A message from Early Stage 1

What a great start we have all had to Term 2. Students are settling back into learning routines and definitely enjoying being back with their friends.

We are starting to introduce ‘tricky words’ in Kindergarten. These words are called ‘tricky’ as they do not follow the standard phonetic code. It is important that students have opportunities to practise reading these words at home. Please see the ‘tricky words’ we are introducing in class under the English heading below.

KG welcomes a practicum placement student into their class this week. Danielle is completing her Masters of Education through the University of Western Sydney and is on a rural placement scholarship. The giraffes look forward to getting to know Danielle over the next 5 weeks!

Reminders

  • If your child has NOT YET brought in a small ‘fuzzy friend’ (teddy bear, soft toy, stuffie) to support their learning in the URSTRONG program, please do so this week. Please ensure your child’s ‘fuzzy friend’ is clearly marked with their name.
  • If your child chooses not to wear a jumper to school, please make sure they have one in their bags as the weather can change very quickly at this time of the year
