Year 10 Bowraville Immersion
As we enter the second week of Advent I have begun to reflect on the year that is quickly coming to a close. Being my first year at St Pius X College, it has been a year of many learnings. In this year of Inclusive Community, I feel very privileged to part of a Catholic community that is able to go beyond their own lives and reach out to others who face challenge and adversity.
We launched the Giving Tree and Hamper Collection last week and it is a credit to the generosity of our students and families to see the wonderful presents and donations that will be distributed within the Broken Bay Diocese and to the communities of Walgett and Bowraville.
Our Year 10 Immersion Trips to St Joseph’s Walgett, St Mary’s Bowraville and St Edmund’s Wahroonga were a great success. I would like to thank Mr Reay and Mr Pembroke (Walgett), Ms Grove (Wahroonga) and Mr Blake (Bowraville) for their wonderful care of our students. Our students gave so much of themselves to these communities during their relatively short visits, but their memories and insights will be something they carry with them for many years to come. Each of these communities were so appreciative of the donations given to them using money raised from the Year 5 and 6 Walkathon and the very generous families who supported Founder's Day.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the support that you have given the Mission Team during 2016. I wish your family all the blessings of the Lord’s season as we look forward to a 2017 of peace and hope.
God Bless.
